Role Overview:

The Sales Development Manager for our Japan Location plays a pivotal role in devising and executing strategies and tactics to drive the emergence of new markets for the organisations products and services.

In this position, you will identify and cultivate attractive emerging market opportunities for our offerings, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the successful penetration of these markets.

You will engage with key opinion leaders and influencers to advocate for our products and ensure a thorough understanding of market, legal, geographic, and regulatory requirements necessary for successful market entry.

Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Sales Development Channel Partner Territory, you will craft long-term plans to expand company revenue and increase profitability.

Responsibilities & Goals:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans tailored to the Japanese market, balancing vision with practical implementation Cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders to demonstrate the scientific and economic case for our products.
  • Establish strategic partnerships, including potential distribution partners, to enhance market reach Identify innovative solutions to customer challenges and execute strategies to target and win opportunities
  • Develop a priority list based on revenue potential and strategic market entry plans Initiate, develop, and maintain long-term relationships with customers at all levels
  • Collaborate with leadership to explore and operationalize partnership strategies for our structure and negotiate new agreements in alignment with business goals
  • Analyse industry dynamics and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities in critical segments Background & Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in an analytical, technical, or scientific field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial, business, or corporate development experience in biopharma, healthcare services, or life sciences Ideally, 5+ years of international commercial experience, including working with channel partners
  • Experience in a fast-growing commercial organization with product launch expertise Understanding of genomics and proteomics trends, with the ability to integrate knowledge from multiple data sources
  • Outstanding customer-centric and relationship management skills
  • Experience with clinical and regulatory environments and markets preferred
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing complex projects
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, high-performing environment with a focus on delivering results
  • Fluency in both English and Japanese is required; proficiency in other languages is a plus
