Medical Device Engineering Consultant – Cambridge – Up to £60k MEDICAL DEVICE EXPERIENCE IS AN ESSENTIAL FOR THIS ROLE!! One of the leading Design Consultancies in the UK are searching for an experienced Medical Device Engineering Consultant, to lead on all aspects of medical device product development, from concept to final product handover.

In this unique role, you will be working within a multidisciplinary team, where you will be responsible for developing innovative mechanical and software designs and leading projects for medical and drug delivery device development clients.

This is a truly client facing role, where you will be managing the client journey from end to end. Starting at initial idea stage, brainstorming on ideas and constant updating of external parties, to delivering the finished product. To manage this process, you will need to have strong knowledge and experience working to ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, IEC 60601 and 21CFR820 (knowledge of all is not an essential, but a strong general knowledge of med dev regulations is required).

You will be doing the hands-on development of the product within this role, so a Software or Mechanical Design Engineer with project management experience would be ideal!

Skills Required

Medical Device Engineering Consultant – Cambridge – Up to £60k

MEDICAL DEVICE EXPERIENCE IS AN ESSENTIAL FOR THIS ROLE!!

Requirements:

• 1st or 2:1 in Mechanical/Software/Biomedical Engineering or Medical Physics

• Strong creative and technical abilities in the following areas: concept generation, engineering analysis and detail design, design of experiments, design for high & low volume manufacturing

• Medical device specific regulatory processes and knowledge – ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, 21CFR820

• Excellent presentation and communication skills

• Proven background in developing complex medical devices

• Ability to lead device development projects from start to finish

• Commercial awareness and knowledge of MedTech trends
