Meet has partnered with an immunology-focused company who is seeking a highly experienced Senior Medical Director to play a pivotal role in their Clinical Development team, focusing on autoimmune clinical drug development. This role encompasses the full spectrum of activities, from discovery research to first-in-human studies, proof of concept, and Phase 3 trials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a senior leader and spokesperson for Clinical Development in Immunology.
- Provide leadership in the management and oversight of a global Phase 2 program in SLE.
- Influence cross-functional teams, including Research, Biomarkers, Medical Affairs, Commercial, Regulatory, and Business Development, leveraging your expertise in Rheumatology and immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMID).
- Design and develop clinical studies and cross-functional initiatives.
- Implement clinical strategies across early and late-stage development programs.
- Collaborate with early development teams to identify new opportunities for scientific exploration, including new indications and line extensions.
- Partner with Business Development on due diligence efforts, supporting collaborations, co-development opportunities, and potential acquisitions.
- Inspire and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Uphold the highest standards of integrity and scientific rigor in drug development.
- Provide medical monitoring oversight in collaboration with CROs for Phase 2/3 programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- MD or ex-US equivalent with board certification or eligibility in Rheumatology or a related immunology disease area, with over 5 years of drug development experience.
- Recognized R&D expert with the ability to engage with Key Opinion Leaders, external health organizations, and regulatory bodies in Rheumatology.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing teams in a pharmaceutical or clinical/academic setting.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage across all levels of an organization.
- Ability to assimilate and convey complex medical and scientific information, alongside an understanding of commercial factors impacting drug development.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners to achieve organizational goals.
- Effective negotiation skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
