Our client is a leading Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) focused on developing and manufacturing complex drugs and innovative treatments for various diseases. Our state-of-the-art facility and advanced technologies enable us to offer high-quality services to our clients in a timely manner. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Scientist of Plasmid Process Development to join our dynamic team.\

The Principal Scientist of Plasmid Process Development will be responsible for leading the development, optimization, and scale-up of plasmid DNA production processes for use in clinical and commercial applications. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in E. coli microbiology, fermentation, and plasmid production, as well as plasmid characterization and plasmid DNA cloning/sequencing techniques.


  • Develop and optimize plasmid DNA production processes using E. coli fermentation technology.
  • Lead the scale-up of plasmid DNA production processes from small-scale to large-scale.
  • Develop and implement strategies for plasmid DNA purification and characterization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful transfer of plasmid DNA production processes to manufacturing.
  • Conduct experiments, analyze data, and present findings in both written and oral formats.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advances in plasmid DNA production technology.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements.


  • Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field with 3+ years, or M.S. with 5+ years, or B.S. with 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of E. coli microbiology, fermentation, and plasmid production.
  • Experience with plasmid purification and characterization.
  • Experience with plasmid DNA cloning & sequencing techniques.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working in a cGMP environment is preferred.
