Senior Account Manager – Consumer Healthcare PR – London
Overview: Our client has an opening for a Senior Account Manager to play an essential role in supporting the business and client base covering their consumer Health accounts.
Background: This Healthcare PR agency provides exceptional quality across their core Business Units of Consumer Health, Health communications & Health Education and is now part of one of the leading global communications consultancies.
Role responsibilities:
Account management:
Ø Oversee all event/project logistics to budget and time
Ø Develop detailed project plans including timelines, resourcing needs and budgets and oversee the planning /implementation phase, including resourcing requirements
Ø Maintain day to day client contact and encourage junior team members to raise their profile and liaise with clients on specific projects under your guidance
Ø Challenge clients where appropriate and ensure their expectations are managed
Ø Take personal responsibility for delivering against agreed plans including KPIs, timelines (internal and external), budgets, servicing and profitability and including work delegated
Ø Demonstrate strategic thinking and a business mindset in the development of client campaigns
Ø Recognise and act upon external opportunities to achieve organic growth for the business
Ø Contribute the management and handling of issues/crisis responses where appropriate
Ø Demonstrate the ability to confidently present at external client events/interagency meetings
People management:
Ø Take responsibility for direct line management of team members
Ø Provide constructive and timely feedback and offer support and guidance
Ø Conduct regular meetings and appraisal reviews
Industry awareness:
Ø Continue to develop an understanding of the healthcare, media and digital environments, applying growing knowledge towards the implementation and development of client and new business programmes
Ø Build knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
Ø Keep updated on new developments within the PR industry and competitor activity
Skills required:
Ø Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the media landscape
Ø Demonstrate ability to develop and manage a media campaign and press office
Ø Excellent people management skills and leadership skills
Ø Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ø Excellent project and time management skills
Ø Ability to multitask and work under pressure
Ø Ability to use own initiative
Ø Financial management skills
Ø Good negotiating and influencing skills
Ø Excellent editing and quality control skills
